Saskenergy

SaskEnergy is a Crown corporation in Saskatchewan that serves as our primary natural gas utility company. They deliver energy to 93% of the province.

The Challenge

In our current day and age, a functional, modern website is a basic need for any business with customers—but SaskEnergy’s site hadn’t been updated since its launch in 1996.

Our Solution

We knew accessibility was critical for people with disabilities. And, we knew the website design had to work for SaskEnergy’s subsidiary, TransGas.

An extensive audit was conducted of national and international energy and utility company websites. We also researched best practices for innovative accessibility design, especially when it came to determining a digital colour palette that stayed true to SaskEnergy’s brand.

The Work

From there, we explored different user experience (UX) tactics to find how we could design a site that not only served SaskEnergy customers, but their own staff as well. We decided that designing a series of energy calculators would help customers understand their energy use, and therefore cut down on calls to SaskEnergy’s phone hotline.

The Results

We equipped the new site with full analytics in order to measure future campaigns and optimize current ones. Our calculator tools were celebrated by SaskEnergy as an innovative way to increase energy literacy. The design overall is modern, visually appealing, and accessible. Through a lot of hard work and collaboration, we delivered a product that satisfied our partners, company stakeholders, and higher-ups alike.
