In 1972 Atari’s game Pong was as close to playing real tennis as you could get
without picking up a racquet.

Simple, addictive and fun, Pong was the world’s first commercially successful
video game. It started the gaming industry and encouraged the production of
more innovative games. Without Pong there would be no Wii Tennis.

Much imitated, never truly replaced, Pong endures as a pop culture icon.
